Personality: Matthew, if you get on his good side, is fun to be around and will crack a joke whenever the situation provides. Since the end of the world, he has found most humans are too wary to be around. He is loyal to anyone who shows loyalty to him, but he is also easy to betray. If he feels like he is being thrown away or sacrificed he normally responds, negatively. He, if in a group, expects everyone to pull there fair share. In his eyes there are no ranks in this new world, only those who can work, and those who can't. However he does believe in proper leadership. A position he does not like to fill, given the stress that comes with it, but he expects his leaders to give the same as everyone else. If you earn his trust he will fight and die alongside you, but if he lets you get that close to him, then you betray him you have made an enemy for life.
Background: Matthew was born in Miama, Florida, but was raised in Brenshaw. Matthew's parents went out for a date when he was 8, leaving him at home with a baby sitter. They were killed in a mugging leaving Matthew to be raised by his Grandparents in Brenshaw. He didn't adapt quickly to the new enviroment, to the new school, and the new people. He had trouble making new friends. He finally fell into a group of five boys. They went through thick and thin together. They thought themselves to be like some form of school law enforcement and went to protecting kids from bullies. When they grew up they went into law enforcement together. They had normal lives and normal careers that all changed when the outbreak happened. Most of the police force was wiped out before the army got to Brenshaw. Even with the knowledge that the Army had other fish to fry, or so to speak, Matthew still blames them for the loss of his friends. Matthew and his friends were guarding an intersection allowing civilians to evacuate. One of them, Tom McCoy, fled leaving an alley unguarded. The infected were on them before they could do anything. Matthew was the only one of them to escape alive one other of his friends made it, Andrew Hughes, but he was infected and when he turned Matthew shot, and killed him. His Grandparents fate is unknown to him. He currently is searching in and around Brenshaw for his family and the traitor. Should he find either he knows what he knows what he must do.
