Name:Michael Hobbar
Face used:Tom Hardy
Age:27
Occupation:US Army National Infantry Guardsman: O-3 Captain
Personality:Michael is easy to get along with, good with following and giving orders if need be, have a hard time trusting people unless they are friends or people I know very well. Good personality and try to stay out of trouble for the most part. Michael cares for his friends and will do everything to protect them. He is a bit forgetting at times due to his rather short attention span.
Because of his relatively short attention span, one has to remind him sometimes to get something done.
Michael likes to associate with those who are smart, or has skills, often taking them to his advantage. He’s a good leader and is mostly fair when it comes to keeping the group on task and tasking everyone with a fair amount of duties. He is a bit selfish and lazy and would use his leadership role to his advantage, staying back as others do the hard work, though he works his subordinates effectively and efficiently.
Michael is a quick learner. He can learn something in a matter of minutes (obviously depending on what’s being taught. Some tasks take longer to learn.) He also is for the most part, a trial and error self-learner. He would rather do something himself and learn from trying and repeating rather than relying on someone to take him step by step or watch or read tutorials.
In contrast from being easy to get along to, he is also a bit defensive when it comes to his own image. If he feels insulted he will make it known, and especially if he feels that there is insubordination to either himself or to the chain of command.
Michael also have a obvious love for the service, any tarnish in its good name and he will make it known. Referring back to the previous point, if there is insubordination, he will see to it that it dissipates.
In viewing others, he is highly opinionated and judgmental. When he sees someone, he doesn’t immediately form an opinion, but when he makes his mind, it’s normally set. Michael has a extreme dislike for people who brag their skills and when asked to perform cannot. He always tries to see the good in people however, but once again, having a set mind makes it hard for him to do so. Michael will not hesitate to voice his opinions and sometimes, that has…disastrous effects.
Background: Michael was born in Nevada in the Tahoe region of the state while his parents were in Tahoe for a vacation. His parents enjoyed skiing very much and did so on most vacations which rubbed off on Michael as he grew up. After being born, Michael's family returned to their home city in Madison, Wisconsin.
Growing up, Michael was not the smartest tool in the tool box to say the least. He only did average in school and found refuge in sports and art. Michael tried many sports: football, baseball, soccer, tennis, the list goes on and on, but only one field suited Michael: the pool. Michael started swimming and he was just naturally good at it. He was able to quickly learn and glide through the water.
Back at school, Michael just hung in, he joined youth groups like Boy Scouts and learned outdoors skills. He quickly advanced through the ranks, but once he reached near the end of his Boy Scout Career, closing in on Eagle Scout, he lost interest. He soon discovered JROTC. His high school had an Army JROTC and he joined up. Naturally, he was good, he quickly learned drills and military regulations and customs. His dedication earned him promotion to Cadet Captain.
In swimming, he was racing at very high levels now. He was swimming Far Western times (that's pretty fast) and was the star at his own High School. He made team captain and the team won Division Championships.
Because of his JROTC experience, Michael decided he would continue the Army in College. He signed up for ROTC and in 4 years graduated and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army. After 4 years in the service, Michael was put in charge of Echo Company. When the Infection broke out, his company was tasked with holding a bridge and help screen people trying to escape the city, they did not succeed and what was left of his company was now scattered throughout the city, surviving, just like everyone else.
