While some survivors are to be watched closely, the infected are your primary foes. These savage cannibals can force an unlikely duo to work together because of their strength in numbers. One bite from them and you'll feel the effects instantly, but the severity will vary. Some of these symptoms include:
Types
The Infected: Once a victim succumbs to the virus while still alive, they will maintain their speed and mobility while displaying signs of uncontrollable rage. They will no longer think logically and act purely on instinct. In addition, they will possess a heightened sense of sight, smell, and hearing. If the individual is only slightly scathed (minor scratch, come in contact with their blood, etc.), the symptoms will come gradually. If they're lucky, they'll have another hour to live, give or take.
Walkers: If a victim happens to die from his or her wounds before the transformation takes effect, they will rise from the dead and become your traditional slow, shambling corpses. The only way to kill them is by destroying the brain, otherwise they'll keep coming at you.
The cause is unknown, and the cure is nonexistent. Once you're infected, that's all she wrote.
- Increasingly pale skin.
- Bloodshot eyes.
- Extreme spasms.
