we're dead in this ghost town [/i][/color]
There was not a single objection to the suggestion of a mall. Even though he was quite worried about the infected there, Espio had already thought of that. What a clever, cute boy. He was so dearly trying to be serious, and still Koota found himself holding in a grin. Those big eyes were forcing such a proud look that it was rather amusing. The boy really did have big eyes, Koota had just noticed it. They were a rather warm shade of brown.. and though the man would have expected the child to have quite the large mouth, it fits his face well -- despite the slight feminine curve he had to his lips. There was a sudden impulsion to touch them, and his hand did indeed raise, but lifted higher. The cold fingers brushed past those brown, soft locks -- he was quite.. girly wasn't he? -- and gave a soft ruffle. " .. well spoken. This is why you are the brains.. thinking on your feet" It was a bold statement, not one of his careless whispers for once.
The talk of food merely made him roll his eyes. The hand falls from the child's hair to his shoulders, and Koota begins to make them walk again. His hand slowly falls again to merely tuck away into his own pocket. He didn't plan to go to a house. He softly shook his head and pointed. It was a long, straight street to the mall, he remembered that -- more so he remembered racing down it like crazy. It never took long though, so he didn't want to slip into a house. " We'll go there tonight.. food is there " And that was all he had to say on the matter. There was food, shelter, and best of all weapons; and damn it, there better be smokes. It would only take.. the most an hour or two. That wasn't bad at all. They started early. The only think that bothered Koota was the train station. He did not want to be near the train station..

The boy shut his eyes tightly as those cold fingers slipped through his hair. He gave a light shiver and turned his head away. Espio trusted this man enough to let him touch him. The hooded male hadn't hurt Espio once aside from their first meeting. Which wasn't so much Espio being hurt rather than being scared shitless by a dark figure breaking into his home and pouncing on him in the dark. There was a light groan from the boy at the ruffle to his hair. He could never take people seriously when they did that. It made him feel as though he were a child. "Yea, well... I can think of this stuff in my sleep too. Not just on my feet. You can expect a lot more better ideas once I've gotten a long rest. One without waking up early," Espio explained, inhaling and standing at his tallest, which wasn't all that tall, as he tucked his arms behind his back.
There was a nod of the boy's head at the suggestion of going straight there. It shouldn't take long as long as they didn't have any run ins with anything flesh-eating. Espio gave a quick nod of his head and circled around the man and, once behind him, reaches up to grab his shoulders, pulling down on them. "Kneel down a bit," Espio commanded him, gripping at his shoulders before he hopped up. He held his breath as he tried to pull himself onto the man's back. His arms loosely around his neck with his legs tight around his waist. "Onward now! We don't have all day. We definitely gotta be there before the sun goes down. At this time of year, that's soon. Hurry up!" This was way better than the over the shoulder position. And, if something made the choice to attack, Espio could be off the man's back in seconds and armed before his feet hit the ground. Espio, as far as he knew, was entirely prepared and ready for whatever was ahead.

The boy.. had climbed on his back. What in the hell.. So childish, despite that large brain, this boy was certainly interesting. Though he was quite immature to a point. Koota had a feeling this boy, if he was more social, would be quite the pick to those more perverted leaning upperclassmen. Koota knew they were around, when he was back in school he was one of them. Though he did like 'mature' women.. there was nothing like the sugar smiles of the underclassmen. Koota also got the feeling that this boy wasn't loose though. He seemed.. behaved. Strange, for a man like himself to run into a boy like this. He was as wild and loose gunned as they came..
He got a good grip on the boy's legs and started to continue their walk. The weight didn't bother him -- Koota took any sort of exercise he could. This was a perfect one, and the boy hardly was heavy. It was more so the bags they both carried that was hurting him, so to speak. Koota was just thankful the boy was careful with his bag, he really did not want to lose the items in there -- or the boy to be harmed by said items. " .. bossy.." There was a lightness to the tone, the grumble, as he continued their path. He fell into silence again though, both for a lack of words and enjoying how the boy would whine at the man's lack of words

Of course Espio was being bossy. He was the boss here, wasn't he? The leader of this little duo. The guy with all the brains and planning abilities was meant to lead a team. And if he had to tell this hooded man to do everything, then the boy would do so. No matter how little the task, if he thought he couldn't do it himself, this man would probably be willing. Espio just wasn't strong. He could kick ass, aim and use some master ninja skills in his video games, but he wasn't himself in those games. Just an animated character who takes button mashing skills to use. Espio didn't have any of those skills. If there was no controller, mouse or keyboard, he probably couldn't do it. The boy could hardly run. If he really tried, he could get to a pretty good speed, but he would tire out so easily. That's probably a huge reason why Espio had taken a seat on this man's back. There would be no chance of him ever getting tired. Only bored.
Through that long while of silence, Espio didn't even think of speaking. He was far too lost in his thoughts of what they would do when they reached the mall. Where they could go and where the doors most needed to be blocked off would be. With the man's hands on his legs, Espio had released his grip on the other's neck. His hands rested on the older male's shoulders while he pressed his cheek to the man's back. His ear was there, against the hoodie, and he could lightly hear a heartbeat. Was it the man's heartbeat? Or was it Espio's? Was his heart beating so loud he could hear it? Espio sat up a little, putting a hand over his heart, unsure why it would be beating so hard. But he thought it was going at it's normal rate. "Hey, can you hear a person's heartbeat through their back...?" Espio asked out of nowhere, frowning as he leaned in to press his ear to the man's back again, listening for it.

Koota was the perfect video game character it would seem like. He could 'kick some ass' persay, he could aim damn well and well, though not a ninja, he was damn good at parkour; that crazy sport he learned for mischief purposes. Koota was fine with being Espio's player though -- it seemed from teh moment they met and Koota allowed this little guppy to follow him, that he was going to be his body-guard. Koota wasn't going to mind it though, after all the boy wasn't being a hindrance yet. In fact, he kept Koota from going insane with his worrying over his lost friends. 'Course he did still worry, but that was in the night when Espio slept so peacefully.
The words hit Koota for a moment, and he continued walking, but a thoughtful look appeared on his face. Could someone? As he thought, a faint memory seemed to linger. "Hey.. do you think I can hear his heart beat yet?" " ...her heartbeat, and no.. get off my stomach dick" "But it's warm~!" The man held in a winch, not wanting Koota to feel it. Instead he just softly shook his head. " No.. I don't think you can. I never have been able to at least. Unless someone is really skinny.." Silence fell again for a small moment before he frowned, looking around. " ... Where did they all go.." The words fell form him, to distract himself. THe past was the past, he couldn't think about it. All he could think about was this precious boy on his back and keeping him safe -- no matter what.
